Hi everyone! This is Silas, the Author and founder of Um Land. I wanted to tell you all a little bit about the illustrator of all these awesome Um Land pictures and characters.

After I wrote the story, I realized I was NOT good at drawing. So, I created a contest where I gave one page of my story and asked a bunch of different illustrators to give me a drawing that made me laugh.  Paul won by making me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants! I especially liked how he drew my red-hot-booty. 

Paul Vîrlan is a Bucharest-based art director Silas met on his way to Um Land. It didn’t take long for them to start visualizing Silas’ new universe. After saying Hi, of course. It was definitely one of the most memorable encounters Paul ever had, because he had so much fun working for a 6-year old. Check out more of his work at www.vrln.ro.
